Ferguson Named MVP of Showcase
June 24, 2009
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – St. Albans graduate Roger Ferguson ’09 was named MVP of the South team following the US Lacrosse National Senior Showcase at Bryant University on June 20.
Ferguson’s squad lost to a tough East team in its semifinal match-up, and beat the West all-star team in the consolation game. At the conclusion of Showcase, a Most Valuable Player was picked from each 24-player team, and Ferguson was the South team’s honoree. In addition to playing stellar defense and scooping up numerous ground balls, long-stick middie Ferguson notched two assists on the day.

The Providence location was perfect for Ferguson—not only will be attending nearby Brown University in the fall, but his grandparents and other family members live near Providence and they were able to watch him in the Showcase. The last Bulldog to participate in the Senior Showcase was Courtney Baker ’06, a defenseman for Cornell.
A first-team All-Met selection and a US Lacrosse and Under Armour All-American, Ferguson will participate in the prestigious Under Armour All-America game at Towson University on June 27. In the 4-year history of the Under Armour game, Ferguson is the second Bulldog to be selected. Thomas Muldoon ’06—an All-American attackman at Brown– played in the inaugural Under Armour All-America game, scoring a goal for the South squad.
