The annual Lacrosse Alumni Game will be held on Saturday, May 31st at 1 p.m. on Satterlee-Henderson Field. The game will pit the returning STA varsity players vs. any and all STA lax alums (the class of 2008 will be included on the alum side). There will also be a cookout after the game. (Note the time change to accommodate a shift in STA’s baseball game Saturday!)

Players should plan on providing their own equipment. If you need equipment or if you have any questions, please contact head coach Malcolm Lester at 202-537-5703, mlester@cathedral.org. Come celebrate the stellar season that STA lacrosse had (which included a victory over national power West Genesee in Syracuse), and have fun with former teammates. If you are not participating, feel free to come on out and watch; parents are invited as well. When St. Albans traveled to Syracuse, NY, last month to play West Genesee, the Bulldogs also visited the Onondaga Nation near Syracuse to watch a lacrosse game and meet students. To thank the Onondaga Nation for their hospitality, a box of 2008 STA lacrosse t-shirts was airlifted to Syracuse. Coach Lester received these photos shortly thereafter, showing that the t-shirts are being put to good use.

cornellbrownalums20082.jpgOn Saturday, April 26 several STA Bulldogs met on the Cornell University lacrosse field in a game that had Ivy League crown implications. The 15th ranked Brown Bears (10-2), lead by STA’s Brian Asher ‘04 (captain), Jack Walsh ‘05, Thomas Muldoon ‘06 and Michael Miller ‘06, took on the 8th ranked Cornell (9-3) with Big Red defenseman Courtney Baker ‘06. In a hard fought battle, Muldoon scored two goals, Walsh had a pair of assists, and Asher scooped two ground balls for the Brunos. Though Cornell won the match and with it a share of the Ivy League title, Brown remains in the hunt for its own share of the title as it takes on Princeton on May 3.
